REGISTRATION: In order to use the Shared Ride program you must first register with Rainbow at our offices at 539 South Bolmar St in West Chester.

FROM 202 SOUTH: Exit at Westtown Rd. At the bottom of the ramp, turn RIGHT. Go to the first light and turn LEFT onto E. Nields Street. Come to the first stop sign and turn RIGHT. Our building is on the right.

FROM 202 NORTH: Exit at Westtown Rd. At the bottom of the ramp, turn LEFT. Go to the first light and turn LEFT onto E. Nields Street. Come to the first stop sign and turn RIGHT. Our building is on the right.

AREA OF SERVICE: All runs requested under the Shared Ride program must meet certain requirements: Some of these requirements are as follows:

•  The pick-up OR the destination of the trip must begin in our primary area of service.

•  We are required to put Seniors who are traveling to similar locations in the same cab. For this reason, we ask that you make your reservations with this in mind, and although this is not always the case, you may be riding with someone else.

•  Not all requested rides can be serviced viably. For example, if you live in Kennett Square and wish to be transported to the Chadds Ford area we may not have the fleet availability to properly service you. In fact, some rides are not possible for Rainbow to perform in a way that does not sacrifice our ability to properly service our other clients in a timely manner. ADVANCED RESERVATIONS REQUIRED: All reservations in the Senior Shared Ride program have to made at least ONE day in advance. Senior trips to the Airport are required to be made at least TWO days in advance. If these requirements are not met, or you call us on the day that you need the cab, we are required by the state to charge the normal fare that would be charged for the trip under our normal rate structure. Reservations requested on the day of travel, even in emergency situations, will not be performed at the discounted rate.

AIRPORT RESERVATIONS: Airport reservations can be made with the following:

•  Reservations made at least one day in advance (ideally two days.)

•  A valid credit card to secure the return ride.

•  Your travel itinerary including: day of travel, Airline, Flight Number, and time of arrival and departure.

SHARED RIDE CONCEPT: The Shared Ride Program is not a private cab service. Every run must make proper use of the Shared Ride concept, which means transporting passengers from similar points of origin to similar points of destination. While we are able to provide a more personalized, flexible service than other paratransit providers, we often have to request that clients make changes to their pick-up times in order to properly service other clients wishing to ride with Rainbow. We also reserve the right to ensure that all the runs we accept under the Shared Ride Program adhere to this concept and do not sacrifice our ability to service all clientele in a timely manner.
